Frontwoman Martamaria (Hungary) can be found in the Guinness Book of World Records for her unique vocal range. She is joined by prog rocking keyboard player Diego Tejeida (Mexico) & guitar, sitar/anything with strings "hero" Charlie Cawood (UK) and Daniele Panza on the other guitar and backing vocals. Our 3-song EP has been reviewed in this month's issue of Powerplay magazine! We got an 8 out of 10 rating and some great comments about our music!
Also, in this month's edition of Musician, the journal for members of the Musician's Union, there is our singer Martamaria's review of the AKG Elle C microphone, and our drummer Vincenzo's review of the UFIP Class and Bionic cymbals.

Tonight we had our last gig of September in the Fiddler's Elbow. It was a great show, despite the tiny stage (not so good for a six-piece band!). Thanks to all our friends who came, and the other bands: D.Monic and 9-Blind, who lent us some their gear.
We also discovered ourselves in the latest edition of Tour Dates, who published a very favourable article about us!

We've had our gig at the Bridgehouse II in Canning Town. A big thanks to the organisers, who provided us with such a warm atmosphere, not to mention great stage and lighting. Check www.myspace.com/achillamusic for some cool new pictures!

Our gig at the Dublin Castle was pretty successful! In the audience were Malcolm Dome (Kerrang!/ Metal Hammer) and Jody Turner (of 80s legends Rock Goddess). A special thanks to Ayoze Lopez, who stood in for our drummer, Vince. He did a fantastic job learning all the parts and was a pleasure to play with (and was so good he was offered session work with The Only Ones, whose bassist was in the audience)!
The next date is Sunday 21st of September, in the Bridgehouse II in Canning Town.

The new songs are sounding great! We'll hopefully be playing 'Why' and 'Pain' live within the next month. A third, 'Mektoub', is on the way!

We've returned to the live scene after a month long sabbatical, with our first gig in exotic Croydon! Unfortunately Matt, our bassist, had other commitments but his place was more than ably filled by our guitarist Charlie. Thanks to Frantic Promotions for organising the gig. The next date will be 15th of September in the Dublin Castle, Camden.

We've arrived back in London after our first headline slot at the Riverside Fringe Festival in Stockton-On-Tees (which was also our first festival!). Because of our extended stage-time we were able to debut two new songs: an acoustic version of 'Dolor' (Pain) and our cover of Dream Theater's 'Pull Me Under'.
We had a great reaction from the local audience and were very well looked after by the festival organisers, who provided us with food, hotel rooms and Vodka Orange.

We had a very successful gig at the Bull And Gate last night! It was a really great night, thanks to all our friends who came, and also the two other bands Fallen Angel and Crack Silence And The Widow Syndrome, who were a pleasure to share the stage with (and were also kind enough to lend us some of their gear!). Our next London date will be September 5th at The Brief, in Croydon.

A big thanks to all our friends who came to our gig at the Dry Bar last night! It was our first performance as a six-piece - we've now been joined by our second guitarist Daniele Panza, from Italy. Dan, despite a tiny stage and minimal rehearsals, managed to give a great performance!

The week went pretty much with preparing the first Achilla gig which went down amazing!!! We were the second band to play of four bands and had so many fans that we got payed eventhough we weren't the headline act!
There were lots of friends and family to help too. I must mention David Eve our brilliant soundman who made sure we can focus on the show and our manager DeZ who supported us. What a party afterwards...u wouldn't wanna miss it!!!
It was amazing to see such a suprising start.
We've got 2600 dollars here was the follow up surprise and we'll be ready with the new songs soon.
We promise to surprise you with our work.

We are ready with the drums, the bass and the guitar parts for all our new songs in the studio.
We'll carry on with the sitar and vocals on the 1st of April. Hi everyone,
We had a small showcase yesterday. We're ready to gig. Our gigs are going to start in late March/ early April. The first will be held at Klub Requiem at The Ruskin Arms in East London.
Yeah, it takes a little time to arrange them but once we start we'll have good quality gigs and we're not going to stop. Our manager is working on it.
We plan to record three more songs soon and of course we're working on new material too.

It's the 2nd of December.
When we went to the studio with 'Dolor' it was only the first day of the last month of the year. And in the first in a row of studio sessions, we have the piano recorded and some awesome guest percussion thanks to Daniel Ulrich. We'll record the vocals on the 13th of December and then only the mixing is left...

What a day! A very nice lady called Diana from the Wimbledon Guardian interviewed me about Achilla and Sellaband.
Although I sent her our full press pack with the different quotes from BBC Five Live and other papers, she still kept me talking for an additional half an hour. Why? Of course because of Sellaband. She couldn't believe she hasn't heard of it and was truly fascinated to hear what I told her about this fascinating community and the aim we all work for together.
We shall see what will happen next Thursday:)

I think it is nearly impossible to express how happy we are...always some great news although we've only been here 3 weeks!!
Our song 'Wild Flower' was chosen for Talentcast's online radio show, with some other really good songs from different SAB artists.

Thanks for you note and great about the stockton gig. Music still sounds really tight compared to a lot of other stuff on the site so i bought a few more parts
