My name is Simon and i'm here at Sellaband for the music! I'm fully aware, that Sellaband offers lots of monetary shizzle-ma-nizzle. But i don't really care, or understand any of that stuff. So i just wait and see how much i earned, and see if its enough to spend! Consequently, if anyone has any problem/question about the money-aspect, don't ask me! Because i'm just here for the songs...
I believe in lots of artists, that i really like. Im aware that some of them aren't moving very quickly, but they reap they're rewards anyway- thats what matters. I really believe everyone here at Sellaband will one day hit the 50K- it may be quite silly and everyone'll probably disagree, but i'm optimistic! I'll keep hoping...!
Obviously, i wouldn't ever withdraw on an artist. I can't ever see myself doing that, as it kinda goes back on the thanks and gifts the artist gave to me for believing in them- i can't stand those people that just dot parts around like it's a game, it kinda frustrates me. The only time i see withdrawing parts as necessary, is if the money is desperately needed and/or the believer has intentions of re-believing real soon.
My music tastes are quite obscure. I guess, if i were to name my favourite artists i'd say: The Project Hate MCMXCIX, Nightwish, Tori Amos, t.A.T.u, Kate Nash, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Eilera and Epica.
Inside of Sellaband, i really like to promote my artists on my page. I think it's nice for them to get some free promotion, for me because it means i get something new to look at everytime i log in, and for everyone else because it shows them who i'm passionate about, and who i want them to check out.
I visit the forums all the time, and usually lurk, occasionally post but never follow the 'PLEASE BELIEVE' threads. But, as i've said before, i'll be happy to check you out if you send me a message/comment!
So, finally- i'm sure only few of you will ever get this far! But i like talking about music, and i like talking about Sellaband, so this was my perfect outlet!
Oh and finally, i love meeting other believers too! I like to hear what they have to say as well, since their opinions are usually unbiased, and thats a
really cool quality! So hit me up sometime!

August 24th - SolidTube
'SolidTube - The Running Time
Taking a look at the internet, the music produced on and within it doesn’t necessarily hint towards Country music. The genre, often overlooked as simply an output for rednecks and Christians, has had a bad rap for the last few years, but taking a moment to swallow you’re pride, preconceptions and negative expectations, you may just find out that Country music, has become something of the future, just ask SolidTube.
The Austrians took Sellaband by storm, with their captivating and innovative brand of rock fuelled country, providing morally interesting lyrical themes and mind-blowing hooks, as well as their secret weapon, the gorgeous and driving voice of lead vocalist Mandana.
This, their second album (if I’m correct, following their debut For God’s Sake) opens with the punchy ‘Know Me’. Abandoning any worries about their production, the song is one of the CD’s finest moments. The track allows the rock and blues vibe to be more prominent, especially within the passionate performance put in by Mandana, a really great opening.
One of my least favourite songs follows however, with ‘Crusade’. Granted, the song isn’t to my personal tastes, however I’m very aware that the song has been beautifully written and will definitely be enjoyed by those who prefer SolidTubes midtempo tracks.
‘Shadows Of The Night’ takes the band further into the midpaced realms, but this time I find a song that has such a beautiful hook and chorus, it attracts you to the song time and time again. Admittedly, the song is a slow burner, and may not be instantly catchy, but given time it becomes one of The Running Time’s highlights. A truly stunning piece of music.
From an oriental vibed western piece, to this, the more ‘whole’ edit of ‘Welcome To Africa’. Believers should take pride in realising that their funds and the amazing talent of the band made this track become something special. What was once a great song has come a masterpiece, and now fits perfectly within SolidTubes discography. The song touches on the hunger and death in the third world, namely of course, in Africa- a very brave move, something which should certainly be commended. The lyrics in this song may be described time and time again, but hearing or reading them is the only way you can understand the way the band have so successfully grasped the theme they aimed for, a true success.
Its back to the midpace for the albums standout track next, as ‘Home’ continues ‘The Running Time’. This time the song relies heavily on the voice of Mandana, as she guides the track through its beautiful verses, into the heartfelt pre-chorus, not to belittle of course, the overwhelming musical backdrop that makes the song so beautiful. The song has to be heard to truly convey its immense strength, but if I were to describe it with one word, it’d definitely be Stunning.
The rock is well and truly back in town as we continue through to ‘What I Say’. Harking back to ‘Know Me’, the song is direct and punchy, powerfully leading into a great chorus full of pure rock hooks, whilst still retaining the bands unique sound. Mandana shows her wide range once again, from gutsy and broad, to soft and serene, she nails every note.
The bands first true ballad is the acoustic lead ‘Farewell’. Featuring a standout chorus, sang with emotion and relatable lyrics, its easy to see why many fans note the track as their favourite. Without a doubt, the four minutes see the band at their emotional peak, and the atmosphere created leads beautifully into the next track, the third free download, ’Naked’.
Beginning as ‘Farewell’ left off, ‘Naked’ hints at a build up, with a hooky refrain of ‘Naked, Naked…’. As if by magic, the song does exactly that, in a minimalist manner, it grows steadily, with acoustic guitars becoming prominent, Mandana’s voice becoming broader and the electric guitars making a welcome entrance at the third verse mark. The song, akin to ‘Shadows Of The Night’ may take some time to digest, but you can be sure it’s worth dedicating the time to.
‘Sunny Day’ follows, and opens similarly to ‘Naked’. But don’t be fooled, this song takes a major turn from the aforementioned track. Although not entirely upbeat, it’s one of the greatest feel good anthems and a perfect summertime hit. The verses are soothing and perfectly produced by Pete Strobl to make each instrument, particularly the gorgeous acoustics of Jakob Aumaier, entirely audible and the chorus lifts the spirits of the listener and even features a few investors and fans too, I believe, so not only is it a great track, but a true Sellaband classic as well!
Sadly, however, the cd comes to an end, but its certainly not abrupt as the final element of ‘The Running Time’ finds its way into the speakers. ‘Some Things Never Change’ takes every element of SolidTube and delivers them all- the acoustic passages, a great build up, beautiful vocal lines and performance, a stunning instrumentation and relatable lyrics. Not only is this track a beautiful closer, it’s also a gorgeous track when it stands alone too. After opening in a truly inimitable style, SolidTube say goodbye in an even more breathtaking manner, or do they?
Packed with karaoke gems, a remix and redit or two, and a brand-spanking new track- limited editions never looked this good, so be sure to pay that extra few dollars, and get all of these treats, and a great surprise when you check out the bonus track ‘Feels Good’. I won’t reveal all, but you won’t be so CONFUSED when you check It out, and the 5 extra dollars are worth just that. ;-)
So, I’m still not a country fan, but I am a SolidTube fan. A crossover stunner, ‘The Running Time’ isn’t country, and it isn’t rock, hell- I’d say it isn’t even blues. But what it is, is a mixture of some of the most interesting genres, mixing and matching between all styles and creating a unique, and indescribable ‘SolidTube’ style. Generic country bands, take note- this is how its done.
Standout Tracks: ‘Home’, ‘Some Things Never Change’, ‘Sunny Day’, ‘Shadows Of The Night’.'
August 11th - T-Ka
'T-ka - And Maybe A Tree Will Rise Out Of Me
It’s worth remembering at a time like this, that 50K, despite being a considerable amount of dosh, is not that much money when it comes to producing a timeless, and perfectly polished CD. In T-Ka’s case, she also had to hire a variety of musicians to help her create ‘And Maybe A Tree Will Rise Out Me’- so I’m delighted to report that the album is one of the finest and perfected of the 50K CD’s so far.
On a production outlook, the songs are flawless. Every single instrument is at perfect volume, tempo and much more- each part of the melodies can be heard easily, and the mixture of vocals and music is not overpowering nor underplayed, a perfect production, so top marks to Sylvia Massy and co.
Furthermore, the artwork, adds even more to this amazing release. A selection of stunning photographs, awesome sceneries and topped off by a beautiful addition of lyrics written by T-Ka, and accompanying the songs on offer. What may be an unimportant part to some, is certainly a fundamental element to others- so it’s great to see that T-Ka has taken so much time in producing top quality artwork as well as music.
The album opens with the funky and catchy ‘And Maybe A Tree Will Rise Out Of Me’- a song which has a beautiful lyrical content, as we discover more about T-Ka as a person, as well as a musician. The song concludes with an acapella segment, which effectively works in bringing a smile to your face. Interestingly, the song, despite being about death, stands out amongst a small portion of true ‘feel good’ tracks highlighted by the way T-Ka sings and the upbeat musicianship, whom are responsible for injecting a fresh dose of positivity to this great track.
The second track ‘5 In The Morning’ finishes where the previous track left off. As is fundamental in T-Ka‘s music, the song takes funk to a new level, with a poppy element now included within the music. Although not a standout track for me personally, the song is very well written and expertly produced, so major kudos once again.
T-Ka’s signature track ‘Flyin’, a song partly responsible for her rise to 50K follows, taking the tempo to a more soothing pace. A song that relies mainly on T-Ka’s soulful vocal talents and a stunning piano lead, it is one of the albums finest moments. Truly stunning and utterly flawless, it can be surely named as an album highlight.
However, my personal favourite follows, taking the album, this time to a midpaced tempo- another passion filled emotive ballad ensues. ‘On The Other Side Of The Ocean’ is an alternating jazzy, and occasionally brooding piece of art that really takes T-Ka to emotive peaks. Her passonate voice, and interesting vocal harmonies make this composition one of the strongest on the CD. Catchy, yet still interesting after numerous listens.
‘Will You’ follows swiftly, beginning reminiscently of fellow Sellaband artist Solidtube, but soon evolving into the jazzy soulful sounds we come to expect. The song is this time a lot punchier and with another stunning chorus- something that T-Ka produces in mass quantity, it seems. Although not instantly accessible, the songs treasures lie within a few listens, and a few more chances to get the clever melody into your head.
A stunning guitar solo is a highlight within ‘Muszic’. A very serene and soothing track, following from the rocky and jazzy ‘Will You’. It brings the tempo down once more, allowing the listener to relax, and providing a perfect soundtrack to do so. The song itself is not without its merits either, lyrically- it is emotive and touching, and with a close listen, its evident once more what a superb job Sylvia did in allowing every instrument to be heard.
Jazz has never been as prominent however as on ’Dolores’. The gorgeous and upbeat song, has an alternating melody, with a double teamed chorus, both stunningly conveyed. The song is interesting and manages to stand unique due to its defiance from following the usual formula of one verse, one chorus, etc. A great addition to the album, it’ll certainly be another song which sticks into your head for sometime.
Another of T-Ka’s signature tracks, and this time a highly accessible foray into Jamie Cullum styled jazz pop- ‘Midnight City’ possesses the perfect formula for a hit single- catchy chorus, great verses and an all round dose of massive talent. Not much else can be said about the track, except that it is another of T-Ka’s finest moments, and a great, timeless track as well as firm fan favourite.
The surprises don’t end quite yet though, as the penultimate track ‘I Will Never Replace’ proves, this time with a journey into pure piano. Hinting back at ‘Flyin’, musically the song is quite familiar, with vocals and piano being prominent, however, this track takes emotion into account as another key aspect. The touching words sang, mix delightfully with the perfected instrumentation, and is possibly ‘And Maybe A Tree Will Rise Out Of Me’s lyrical peak.
The final shock however is the unexpected induction of Ambytionz Chyldren in the final track ‘Terror’. As the title hints, the song has an uncomfortable atmosphere, and a spooky melody that works extremely well with the guest male vocals. The chorus of the track is a great highlight from the album, with its multilayered vocals following the interplay of male and female voice. What is also a vital element is the gorgeous string arrangements that ensue as the song draws to a close. Beginning on a high, and ending even higher- the song is the perfect conclusion to a surprising, but true piece of art that delivers in every way possible.
So, whilst I retain that 50K isn’t that much money, I also declare that wonders can be done with the funds, and T-Ka has certainly set the standard with this professional and stunningly emotive album- one that will definitely take T-Ka and her career to new highs in the music industry.
Standout Tracks: On The Other Side Of The Ocean, Midnight City, Terror.'
July 13th - Jess King
'Lazy comparisons with Ellie Williams, Julia Marcell or Tori Amos are imminent at the moment Jess King tinkles the ivories. But looking deeper into her music is something that will surely provide its rewards.
Jess King may base the foundations of her music on a talented skill in piano, but alongside this- she employs a surprisingly rare inclusion of American pop. With an underlining prominence given to R&B and soul, the piano successfully compliments the adult orientated pop sound that Jess creates.
Lyrically, she speaks passionately of human emotion- and delivers it with a gorgeous and serene vocal talent. Her words are straight forward, as she chooses a direct and emotional outpour strategy as opposed to a metaphorical manner.
As an artist on Sellaband, Jess may not be as vocal as others, and chooses not to spam or constantly advertise herself- but don’t be fooled as she is constantly updating and welcoming new believers.
Taking a slower trek to 50K, Jess King evidently makes friends and alliances along the journey- ensuring that by the time the target does arise she will have planned, practiced and provided some of the best songs, catchiest melodies and beautiful deliverances that we can expect from the funds.
I think that if everyone took just a few moments to listen to Jess King, they’ll be pleasantly surprised. For Fans of N’Kenge, Ellie Williams, Alicia Keys and the like- don’t take too long because this genre of piano led R&B has proved to be amazingly successful up to now- and Jess King isn’t one to break any of these expectations.'
July 6th - Julia Marcell
'Julia Marcell - It Might Like You
One of the most succesful Sellaband artists outside of the website, Julia Marcell promised something special for her 50K release- and despite being somewhat different to her original material, she didn't disappoint.
Featuring a more experimental edge, evident on such tracks as Dancer and Billy Elliott- Marcell ensures that she is more than capable of breaking through the stereotypical Verse/Chorus/Verse formula- and implements some of the most beautiful string segments to accompany her skilled piano talents.
The emotion within Marcell's music has certainly not been compromised- with just a quick listen to Carousel or Fear Of Flying the listener can easily feel the immense passion Julia channels through her music.
Choosing to not rely soley on the piano and voice combo, the string segments often add an important aspect to her sound- especially in the catchy 'Married To Life'.
Julia's lyrics can take many forms. From the informative storyteller, recognisable in The Story, to the thoughtful philosopher within Outer Space. Her words are serene and honest- something that she has stayed true to through her writing processes both within Storm and It Might Like You.
As a whole, It Might Like You is a stunning debut- not only does it captivate you and stick in your head, the album goes against the norm, and experiments in original and unique manners. Julia Marcell has truly put her heart and soul into this LP, and it's evident through every single track on offer. Definitly, one of Sellaband's finest moments.
Standout Tracks: Married To Life, Fear Of Flying, Night Of The Living Dead, Carousel'
June 22nd - Laïxa
'For a band that make left-field, and intriguing pop- it takes a lot to get noticed. A variety of the most skilled musicians such as Tori Amos, Siobhan Donaghy and Vanessa Carlton are often ignored by the mainstream charts, due to their refusal to provide the catchy, simple music many commercial artists produce. However, as these artists have proved, Mainstream success is not necessarily vital to proceeding within a career of successful musicianship. The genre of pop itself is somewhat used as an insult in today’s society- as pop conjures up images of boy bands or ill-fated reality TV stars. But in its reality, pop as a genre is nothing like this. Laïxa are a band that create this type of pop. Nothing cheesy, and nothing desperate for success- but something unique and accessible- yet original at the same time.
The band make use of the delightful tones of Pamela, alongside the muti-instrumental musical talents of Chris. As a duo, the pair lurk into different musical genres, keeping their rock vibes as the foundations. With techno, pop, symphonic, ambient, metal and oriental aspects seeping through alternate tracks- it’s a sure thing to say that Laïxa aren’t like any other band.
Think of the mysterious, and dark side of Lady Haidee, with a stronger emphasis on the rock elements- akin to The Jade Diary, alongside a sprinkle of industrial and pop vibes. As well as this mixture, Laïxa keep their originality by adding an interesting addition of French lyrics- staying true to their nationality and taking gothic pop to a new audience.
One of the most mainstream-friendly songs in Laïxa’s discography is a beautiful and stunning track titled Redemande Moi. With a strong, catchy bridge, leading into one of the fieriest and breathtaking choruses I‘ve heard, it is lead by an amazing vocal performance full of passion and serenity, and backed by a great composition created by the gorgeous, atmospheric rock backdrop- the band stay true to their gothic undertones, despite the electronic and rock elements often gaining prominence, rendering their music with a further sense of originality.
Another prime example of Laïxa’s talent and accessibility is the addictive vocal lines of Invincible. A song which manages to captivate its listening audience with its inclusion of synths and memorable industrial influences. Pamela’s voice proves itself time and time again, ranging from powerful and direct, to serene and soothing- fitting into the Laïxa soundscapes perfectly.
Au-Delà Du Désir is a more laid back, and soothing song. The verses are divine and guide into a driving, but equally as easy-going chorus. It adds a new dimension to Laïxa’s inspired sounds.
The French lyrics really shine on this track as well, as it puts more emphasis on the music for non-French speakers- and the music blends perfectly with Pamelas stunning vocal performance.
Alike every artist on Sellaband, however, Laïxa have their signature track. As Fin’s Song is to Ellie Williams and Où Es Tu is to Clémence- Elle is the embodiment of Laïxa and their sound. A gorgeous build up to one of the greatest choruses on Sellaband- the song has huge and major hit potential, and is a necessity to their Sellaband CD, surely?! Their absolute precision and talent is a major positive to this track, and words can never describe the way the song captures you so effectively.
As a band, so far, Laïxa have made a substantial amount of money, and strive each day to make themselves heard and noticed within Sellaband- but without applying the omnipresent spamming technique many artists make use of. The duo often are central to debates within the forums- questioning peoples opinions on the site in general and assuring visitors that their music is never compromised to appeal to a mass audience. Within Sellaband, Laïxa often state that their language and nation are key to their band, and ensure that every aspect of them, musically and lyrically, is true to themselves. Surely a passion and bravery like this should be rewarded? It seems so, as Laïxa slowly but surely continue to raise the sufficient funds to create the most original, unique and French ( ;-) ) album Sellaband can ever hope to offer.'
June 8th - Chump
'Chump have been on Sellaband for quite a few weeks now, and have already set their sights onto the 1K target. With a slow but sure part increase, they've watched their budget rise and rise, with no signs of halting.
In many attempts to increase the speed, Chump have shown their dedication to the project by constantly providing incentives and rewards for their believers, ensuring that more investors jump on board, and the current investors themselves are taken care of, in thanks for their investments.
The music Chump provide is a fusion of pop, rock, indie, funk and everything in between. The music is very well written and constructed, with progressive verses leading into catchy and powerful choruses. Also, the vocals of Vince really provide some of the most familiar but original vocal lines, and with a voice that has so much potential and talent, its hard not to want these guys to be recording at 50K sometime soon.
The young age of the members of the band is most definitely another positive. Each member is young and enthusiastic to their music, giving it a fresh and necessary positivity to the music scene. Furthermore, Chump have a lot more time to dedicate themselves to Sellaband, and gaining believers.
Within the forums, Chump promote promote promote. They truly never take a break, furthering their ambition and need for the 50K, something that many artists do not utilize within their journey.
As i stated in my review for Chump, i truly believe that investing in this band is investing in a future talent. The money you put forward will inspire the band and push them to further their goals and achieve them in the long run.
Chump are one of the greatest investments you can possibly make onto Sellaband, so make sure you take the chance and look towards buying a part in the youngest and most talented Sellaband juniors of all!'
11th May - Natalia Safran
'A definite dark horse on Sellaband, Natalia Safran has speedily found herself in a strong position on page two within just a few months of her arrival.
She has a good speed that is slow enough to grab as many believers as possible, but quick enough to not keep them waiting- i'm sure that Natalia will soon get the big boost onto page 1, and from there, the sky is surely the limit.
Her music is unclassifiable. She presents indie rock, teamed with sultry tones, adding a dash of electronics and a segment of well thought out pop.
Check out the track 'Overdrunk Love' to see her fiery tones smoldering through each note and verse. With a catchy and accesible sound (whilst still retaining a mature and true edge) she can easily break right into the mainstream, as a successful and popular female vocalist.
I just urge everyone to grab a part in Natalia Safran. She may seem like a quiet artist, but be sure- she's loading in the believers, pumping up the parts and just waiting for the right moment to pounce into the top position, and right into 50K.'
5th May - Blister
'Blending together a mash of styles, influences and strategies- one of Sellaband's longest serving bands has to be Blister.
Joining the site near to its conception in 2006, they have promoted themselves over and over, and have finally reached the 9K mark, with 10K firmly in their sights.
Although many may see their slow rise as a negative- i definitely have to disagree. The chance for Blister to truly connect with their fans has been achieved by their steady increase, and the work that they have put in day after day for two years shows that Blister, as a band, believe in themselves, this concept and their believers whole heartedly. Whats more, it proves that they are hard workers who deserve the goal well and truly.
The music they produce is atmospheric rock, which relies heavily on the vocal talents of Marie. The vocalist has a charismatic presence that delivers emotional, yet powerful performances.
Furthermore, the band prove endlessly that they have amazing skill with their instrumentation. The intricate and rocking compositions are so catchy and accesible, but still retain a sense of mystery and atmosphere to keep you entertained listen after listen.
Blister are often overlooked on Sellaband, perhaps due to their refusal to spam themselves and/or compromise their music to anyone. But as i, and many other fans have realized- Blister are one of the kindest, thoughtful and generous bands on the website, and with a cracking sound to match, 50K will be here way before the next two years pass.'
21st April - Banshee Celtic Band
'When beauty and passion collide- something with epidemic proportions of talent is sure to surface.
This equation proves correct with Banshee Celtic Band- a unique and powerful band that offers a lot more than simply good music.
With a passion to die for, they are indebted to Sellaband, with the 50K in their mind throughout- they endlessly post comments, messages and plans. Visit the forums and denote every part of how they'd spend their funds. Banshee have an intelligent and refreshing viewpoint on the funding for their album- and a very mature idea on how they would create the best CD possible.
Furthermore, the music on offer here is second to none in its fun and uplifting vibe. A sound that makes you want to sit down, and ponder life. To a sound that makes you want to dance around like crazy! From a sound that is so unique and original, that you're mind listens intently- to a sound that is effectively familiar- and gels inside you're mind.
Not many bands like Banshee have the talent and potential to break onto the mainstream market- but if anyone can do it Banshee Celtic Band surely can.
Catchy, sweet, uplifting, folky, beautiful, powerful, strong and original- it may be a slow journey so far but Banshee Celtic Band have every ounce of self belief, power and skill to hit the 50K- and with that the sky is the limit...!'
14th April - Gisel De Marco
'As may rolls around, Gisel De Marco gets set to visit the UK- headlining Sell-A-Party alongside Sellaband favourites such as Caya, Heidi & Sunsoma.
The charismatic starlet has been on Sellaband for quite some time, but has not deterred from her journey on any occasion. Her love of music, determination and talent has proved it' point as she recently soared to Page 2- out of the many artists that joined Sellaband.
Her music is charming and catchy- it is mature but with an accessible edge. As one of the three SAB Angels, it comes as no surprise that Gisel isn't too far apart, musically, from Lori Greco and Angie Arsenault. Her melodies are original and beautiful, and her voice stands strong above the music, but manages not to be overbearing.
With songs such as the mesmerizing 'I Found You'- Gisels potential truly shines. Recorded under a budget, with little time for luxuries- her songs at sellaband are raw and true to herself. But with the magic she provides in basic format, time will only tell what Gisel can produce when the 50K budget is in her hands.
Her songwriting skills are also second to none. Despite her Argentinian roots, she produces some of the most mature and powerful lyrics many will ever hear.
Whats more, her luscious and sultry vocals demand the listeners attention, as she soars through a range of emotions with her significant array of styles and genres. What links every song together, however, is the beautiful and breathtaking voice and emotion that pours though every note.
On a personal front, Gisel is thankful and gracious to her believers- and sees them all as equals. Her kind mannner can only draw you in to believe in, not only a 50K artist, but also a girl who is sure to follow her dream, stopping at nothing.'
6th April - Marco
'Marco joined Sellaband with a few ambitions- to get his music heard and develop a fanbase. By his own accord, he didn't expect it to happen this quickly! Since joining the website on March 15th, he has gained 36 dedicated believers who helped him raise almost 2.5K - within just one month of joining! Despite not joining when originally discovering the site, he is partly responsible for Lily Vasquez's speedy rise to 50K- as he was in fact one of the people who influenced her to take the chance- consequently Marco is not only a new talented artist, he is a true and succesful ambassador of everything that is Sellaband!
Now, after around 3 weeks of being active he has been chosen as one of the few acts to be concidered for repeated radio broadcast at Talentcast- a site that aims to boost the careers of Sellaband hopefuls! With a variety of artists previously winning the conciderably prestigious 'Song Of The Week', Talentcast can almost ensure a surge in popularity. So as his third landmark draws close- now is the time for Marco to be planning a career that differs from the usual nine to five- rock stardom awaits, for sure!
A question to ask oneself, is that with pure talent alone Marco has garnered 2K, but as his career takes leaps and bounds- with his introduction to gigging coming up, and a recognition from Talentcast, how soon will it be before Marco is soaring to 50K, akin to Ellie Williams and Kaitee Page? His steady climb in the charts is grabbing believers, his increase in the pages means people will be often checking him out even more, and most of all- his constant posting on the forums draws even more people to listen to his music.
His explosive and emotive personality is absolutely dedicated to Sellaband and its concept. He endlessly pours out his soul at the forums, to his believers and within his songs, and Marco's believers are much more than investors- they are treated as friends. Marco's sellaband strategy is definitly unique- he comes to the site and acts true to his beliefs, and doesn't care what anyone says- hes a true representation of himself and doesn't hide his feelings simply to draw in believers. His constant updates mean you can be sure that you're $10 are put to good use, and he always keeps in contact- repeatedly informing you of what he's up to on a personal and a buisiness level.
He continues to push his music, and make himself heard- such as on the epic 'Quien Te Crees' which powerfully boasts an amazing production, teamed with thrashing guitar riffs, alongside Marco's raw and talented vocal talents. His voice certainly 'packs a punch', with his raspy tones he creates a faux-sense of calm, before leading into a blasting chorus which simply blows you away.
'Por Tu Culpa', the song picked up by Talentcast, begins with a few loose sultry effects before the pre-chorus ties together every aspect of the music and emits some amazing vocal lines. Before the loose feel returns again, with a really strong vocal performance and also putting a lot of emphasis on the gorgeous guitar licks. Marco truly steals the show once again, however, with his emotional vocals and even in the spoken word, he sounds delightfully honest.
The final song he provides at his page is 'En Tu Sombra' which has some wonderfully melodic vocals. This song in particular shows Marco's hard edge conflicting with his latin vibe- resulting in one of the strongest tracks on offer. Its also worth mentioning that despite being a solo artist, 'En Tu Sombra' proves that Marco creates amazing MUSIC as well as amazing VOCALS.
His music in general has a vibe that is fresh and original, but a recurring theme of hard rock that ties each song together, as well as the passionate vocals that are evident also, ofcourse.
So- that is Marco, and he is without a doubt one of the newest and most talented upcoming acts on the site. His time is coming, so anyone wishing for an early Limited Edition should surely hurry- especially with the final sentiments in Marco's about me: 'Bigger and better things will be coming very soon!!'.'
24th March - AIOIA
'Wow.
AIOIA grabbed my attention when they first joined. I saw their photo as i signed onto my page, and was quite interested. C-Leen, who was primarily apparent in the picture made me believe that the band were a soul or gospel act- and i just had to tell my friend Karin, since she's a huge fan of that type of music!
But i was certainly surprised when i clicked play, and heard the most atmospheric, ambient music i had heard in quite some time! The beautiful build up of 'The Enoch Syndrom' was the first sound that drew me in. The gorgeous backdrop of synths were amazingly arranged, and the soulful vocals added a dramatic sense of uniqueness.
However, as the song continued and reached its epic crescendo, i was taken aback. The sound had complexed so delicately and now sounded absolutely bombastic- i knew that this was going to be a favorite of mine.
I fully support AIOIA for this reason, but also for the other amazing tracks they have on offer. We all have our favorites, and its obvious that mine is 'The Enoch Sydnrom' but i can truthfully say that every song on offer is individual, atmospheric and alluring to addictive effect.
Furthermore, i have received nothing but kindness from every message i received of Alex, and i am truly blessed to know him- and can't express enough how happy i am to have been so kindly treated by him!
AIOIA are certainly not for everyone- their complex song structures make it hard to crack the shell- but there's definitely something exciting and amazing inside- so what have you got to lose?!
If you believe, you can receive their amazing debut album 'Ummo Uxa' for free!
The album opens with 'Hello Brother', which acts as a sort of opener- it introduces each of the instruments, and is coated with solo's, as well as the spooky repetition of the phrase 'Hello Brother'. It introduces you to AIOIA, and what they are about...
'Ummo Oemii In Madrid' is a trip-hop styled experience that has beautiful instrumentation- very different to the other tracks on the album. The lyrics offer something totally different- an introduction to the story AIOIA convey with every track they produce. The vocals, courtesy of Nadj M'Rini Hendriks especially shine with this type of backing- a perfect platform for her to broadcast her delicate yet powerful skills.
'The Whales From Atlantis' is one of the most epic tracks on 'Ummo Uxa', welcoming the vocals of Stéphane Sarrazin that perfectly compliment the unique backdrop of poppy effects, and rocky guitar licks. Without a doubt, 'The Whales From Atlantis' is one of the most catchiest tracks on the album, and one of the strongest tracks ever written by a Sellaband artist, in my opinion. Powerful, heartfelt and passionate- the track truly sums up AIOIA and their outlook.
The aforementioned track 'The Enoch Syndrom' is an ambient, lulling symphony that is lead by Nadj once again- with an epic sound that slowly draws to a powerful crescendo.
'Babel Recall' draws a close to th first half of the album. It reminds me a lot of Arjen Lucassen's Ayreon project, due to its original and progressive feel. It opens with an atmospheric vibe, that is soon broken by the guitars and strings that powerfully push the song towards its finish.
A song that reminds me of Sellaband's Radio Orange is the opening of the experimental 'Inuxa U Beach'. The sound grows, as with many AIOIA tracks, and becomes more interesting and unique as the minutes pass by.
'The Caves Of Bayan Kara-Ula': The next track opens with a very interesting and mysterious introduction. The female vocals lead into the chorus, when Stéphane accompanies to create a perfectly serene, yet erotic feel, with whispers and distorted sounds, interrupted by crashing guitars and drums. The chaotic feel successfully leads into another rendition of the dual-vocals, and into another powerful close.
As 'Ummo Uxa' continues, the interestingly titled 'Ministamia' begin with a chanty vocal line, that is joined by an arabian-styled string segment. Once again, AIOIA has the backdrop instrumentation build up to a magnificent crescendo. Only to fall again to a contemporary chill-out segment. One of the most powerful tracks, once again provided by the newest and freshest Sellaband talents.
'Abydos Gates' provides a unique forging of Techno beats and effects, with oriental strings and percussion. It's potentially one of the most experimental songs on offer here.
The penultimate track- 'Groom Lake Secrets' is one of the most accessible. It is forged around a trip-hop sound, that adds a new element to AIOIA's music. The strong backing is one of the most driving forces on the whole album- and is only strengthened by the passionate and skilled vocals of Stéphane.
The albums final track is its calmest- the acoustic-lead 'Tikal Uewa' which leaves the AIOIA narrative open for future releases. Musically, the track is a mid paced song that leaves a lasting impression on all of AIOIA's listeners.
AIOIA have so much to offer, to Sellaband and to the life after 50K- so believe and the story will continue...!'
14th March - Radio Orange
'It's not every Sellaband artist that offers 200+ free gift parts! But Radio Orange have so much more than talent and great music- they have genuine kindness on side!
Their endless offers to spread the word to as many as possible can never be ignored. From free parts, to special offers and so much more- Radio Orange play a very different game to many on here.
As if that wasn't enough to believe in them, they also produce genre-defying music that flirts effortlessly within the realms of Rock, Pop, Indie and many more.
Their vocals are reminiscent of such classic bands as The Who and Pink Floyd, whilst still retaining their original Radio Orange essence.
Whats more, the band have a massive following, from their musical pasts that will surely make an investment MORE than worthwhile!
What more can you ask? Great personality- Check! Great Music- Check! Positive income- Check!
Radio Orange bring the classic rock that we all once loved into the future, and push this forward with Sellaband- nows your chance to join the revolution!
Plus, Orange is a damn cool color.'
9th March - Alexx Calise
'Alexx caught my attention originally, due to her original image, and professional sounds. However, due to her slight inactivity, i didn't believe.
So it was a huge surprise when i saw her dominating the charts once again. Increasing by over $1000 in a tiny amount of time! Thats right- Alexx was back on top form, top active form.
I checked her out once more, and i was amazed. I truly, could not hold back from pressing the red button! A strong production, an obvious desire for music, alongside a huge talent for original songwriting and powerful lyrics that hold back on nothing.
Alexx's music is a powerful brand of hard rock, with passionate and emotive lyrics- reminiscent of Lennon and the later Kelly Clarkson.
Her track 'Pull It [Bullet]' is a mega-hit in the waiting, with a gorgeous and effortless vocal performance, assigned with some of the catchiest hard rock you're likely to come across this side of Linkin Park.
'Good Enough' continues where 'Pull It' left off, and heightens the emotion a tad more. It draws in the more alternative-pop side of Alexx's music. Sellaband fans may also note a slight relation to Agata from Kontrust with this powerful tune.
And finally, the infamous 'Out Of Sight' which looks set to crack Alexx onto the American-rock scene. Already, the track is looking at being recorded by Kelly Clarkson, as well as MTV aiming to buy it for a new TV show! But essentially, this is another Alexx song, that emphasizes her brand of heart-wrenching honesty juxtaposed against pure brutality.
Alexx is original, powerful but most of all- talented. She is one of the few Sellaband artists that has, not only a potential for 50K, but a potential for worldwide fame.
Go Alexx, Goo!'
2nd March - Angie Arsenault
'Her music is breath-taking, and quite why she isn't yet in the top 5 is a surprise to me!
She has persistence, and power to continue her sellaband journey, as she comes to the quickest journey of all, 20K+.
Her gorgeous track 'Merry Go Round' is a stunning ballad, played entirely around Angies piano skills, and her gorgeous tones. Whats more, her lyrical ability is second to none also.
The track 'Shattered Windows' [Not to be confused with her Youtube series of the same name] is another amazing symphony, fuelled this time by a gorgeous line of strings to accompany her easy-listening style.
'Stay' is another gorgeous track, with a perfect production. Not too clean, not too vague, just perfect! Her clear pronunciation shines as her beautiful words are sang with passion and serenity. Her gorgeous layered vocals sound perfect in this composition too.
Another reason to believe is the amazing song 'No Fairytale' which is in a more melancholic direction. But still shows a sympathetic side to Angie's driving vocals.
Finally, her track 'Wake-Up' shows a fun, and upbeat aspect to her music. The guitar adds so much more to Angie's music, and another original vibe for her to provide. Upbeat, and happy in a very summery way, just the season Angie loves, i believe, 'Wake-Up' has huge hit potential, as do all of Angie's songs!
Her vocals are proven to be truly accessible, as her lyrics are relatable. Her passion is undeniable, so please believe in Angie Aresenault!'

Tiffany Gow - 45K !!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much Darling Ossi and a very Happy birthday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XXXXXX | 15.09.07 | 5
What i love about Tiffany Gow is her ability to flirt with different styles, whilst still staying true to her hard rock undertones. Musically, she is fabulous. With a great production and effortlessly gorgeous vocals, she excels where others falter. Her lyrics are brutally honest, and her emotion: truly limitless. Personally, she is a kind, generous person. No matter how high or low she is in the charts, she will always welcome new believers with a beautiful, warm message. She's very passionate about this, and i think she is one of the few artists that actually live their music as opposed to doing it as a hobby. I'm so lucky, glad and blessed to be on this journey with Tiff, i gave her all i could afford, and i know she won't let me down.

Chump | Great gigs yesterday! | 24.05.08 | 3
With a pop rock vibe, Chump are set to be the next So What. With a few more funky elements, and a strong passion for their music, the band have all the pieces to slot themselves into the 50K aim. Age aside, Chump provide some of the most upbeat, catchy funk-rock that you're likely to hear this side of Luna Assassins. The fun, youthful and delightful tones of lead vocalist Vince leads each composition through its well structured segments. Some of the most original vocal lines teamed with strong guitar hooks give the songs a sense of familiarity, and make sure the hooks bury deep into you're mind. One of the youngest, but without a doubt- one of the most talented projects at Sellaband- when investing in Chump, you're also investing in a project that will surely blossom even further with time.

Annie Bacon - * New Song * | 09.05.08 | 2
The embodiment of a witty comedienne, a talented musician and a spice of Mysti Mayhem sprinkled atop her- Annie Bacon takes the levels of acoustic music to a new audience. Her catchy compositions, and fun, relatable lyrics put her in a strong position with modern music-lovers. Already evident with her quick soar to 2K, the silent mover has been making herself known throughout the forums and the charts. The music itself is mainly acoustic, with experimental instrumentation making appearances throughout. The voice of Annie herself is unique and a true talent. Whilst presenting real issues and personal dilemmas within her songs, Annie manages to constantly keep the audience intrigued by approaching the themes with a wise and fun look back, as opposed to a melancholy viewpoint. An artist in the vain of KT Tunstall and Maria Mena, with a wide generation of her own ideas- Annie Bacon is a talent that refuses to be ignored, in a very pleasant and sweet manner, of course.

RAZA | 03.05.08 | 2 | |||
I know that if i ever described Raza as 'Female Fronted Rock', many would envision a bombastic backdrop, coated with choirs, orchestras and operatics galore. But stop right there. Raza have altered that stereotype- and it's surely for the better. The music is focused on electronics, with a beautiful atmospheric vibe flowing through. With amazing vocals, linked with original compositions- the Raza sound presents a huge sense of grandeur and beauty. Furthermore, the relatable lyrics deal with real life issues, and are coated with honesty and passion. I'd recommend that fans of Nemesea, Nine Inch Nails and the sort check out Raza, with their delicious sound that won't leave you're brain for quite some time. Raza have a huge dedication to Sellaband, and their believers. Be sure to grab a slice of the action, before it's too late.

Kontrust | 13.10.07 | 2 | |||
Kontrust were one of the first bands to grab my attention. I think it's awesome that they've held it for so long, but with their amazing tracks: 'Phono Sapiens' and 'Si Je...', i just couldn't resist. The driving voice of Agata is captivating in itself, but when dueled with the agressive tones of Stefan they really excel. The music is also amazingly composed, perfect for the vocals to work with, and Kontrust really gel in this aspect as a band. Finally, the most important thing is that Kontrust are original, very very few bands are close to their interesting genre, surely these forerunners should hit 50K and inspire the new generation?!

It'd be a crime to sum Telepathy up in just one genre. Willow and co take eastern rhythmns and influences and incorporate them into a more modern musical hybrid- experimental in a very captivating manner. With emotion and serenity, its easy to see how Willow has taken Telepathy to a new level. She ensures every word is sung with passion and perfection and has true belief in and surrounding her works. A passion that spreads to her positive manner and respect, as well as love and gratitude to her many believers. She brings a light and happiness with her personal and approachable mannerisms- acting as a friend as well as an artist. Drawing from different cultures and societies, exploring people in the modern world, living differing lifestyles and taking note of the positivity in every part of the human nature- Telepathy really manages to bring you into a sound state of mind. Until Acoustic-Indie-Pop-Rock-Altern ative-Americana becomes an official genre, Spellbox are definitly going to remain an individual genre-hybrid. But hey, its more special that way! Lead by the driving tones of Mysti Mayhem, a modern incarnation of past rock goddesses such as Debbie Harry and Pat Benetar. Her voice ranges from dulcet tones, blending with emotive acoustic passages, to leading towards some of the most passionate verses known to Sellaband. Mandocello, Mysti's partner in crime takes a leading role as he involves himself in making the Spellbox sound unique, blending amazing guitar riffs with the catchiest melodies and choruses he can possibly create. Spellbox represent a sense of freedom and rebellion- who wants to stick to the norm and abide by unwritten genre rules? Spellbox are unique and here to stay.

TAREK SIDANI - 3.8 \,,/ 4K here I come ... | 28.06.08 | 1
Tarek Sidani is a new artist that boasts an american and british sounding invasion into the mainstream pool of the music scene. The upcoming artist leads his innovative compositions with a stunning and emotive vocal performance. Smouldering through passionate lyrics, and soaring in catchy choruses- he's one of the most unique and serene male vocalists in the genre. Tarek has also created a Sellaband anthem with the delightful 'Prayer'- a song that not only has mainstream ability, but an generous amount of credibility to back it up. Musically, his music skills are equally as talented. His instrumentalbackdrop is nothing but flawless, and already proves that Tarek Sidani is a stunning upcoming artist, without Sellabands help. But with the help, and with the budget, he will be able to take his music to a mass audience, and allow himself and his believers to reap the rewards. I'm glad to be one of the lucky few!

SETH WARDEN* - Thank you KOMPIS! | 25.06.08 | 1
An unexpected gem has reached Sellaband- as Seth Warden leaves Wetwerks and creates some of the most stunning and heartfelt music, delving into atmospheric passages and passionate vocals. Leaving behind his metal past, but pursuing with one of the most powerful and innovative voices, Seth has the whole of Sellaband at his fingertips- as he produces one of the most captivating 'comebacks' akin to that of Sarah's Smile. Alike Joyce, Seth possesses one of the most important attributes to Sellaband- a drive and determination to hit the 50K. He may have familiarity and talent on his side, but its obvious that Seth Warden has a lot to prove- and i wholeheartedly believe he will succeed.

Alternative Rock is usually a tag put upon a band pedalling the same, generic music in the style- something common that needs a selling point. Cold Cold Ground | 21.06.08 | 1
In a style not too dissimilar from The Birthday Massacre, Cold Cold Ground take industrial metal to a new audience. Striking from the depths of Scandinavia, the band present a style that hasn't been seen on Sellaband before. A touch of industrial techno, electronics left, right and center as well as one of the most direct vocalists- pounding the Cold Cold Ground's message deep into your ears. As well as investing in one of the most unique artists on Sellaband, you'll also be sure to gain a huge reward- as CCG produce some of the most professional and freshest sounds that would be potential hits for fans of Marilyn Manson and Mindless Self Indulgence. Don't let Mr Bunny scare you- Cold Cold Ground definitely don't bite, but their music sure as hell packs a mighty punch. One to watch, for sure.

Conflict In The Sky* - 60 Believers can't be wrong | 19.06.08 | 1
One of the brightest underground talents is Conflict In The Sky. Boasting a conflict of their own- they compete hard rock riffs against catchy electronic beats. The stunning signature track 'Death Clock' presents a breathtaking skill at songwriting and executing the desired sound. For a band with little funding, the production on these tracks are superb! As well as an ability to work with little budget, the guys have a great ambition for the 50K. Despite a flying start, thinks soon mellowed for the band- but all for the better, as they show their perseverance by attracting new believers and promoting themselves thoroughly at every opportunity. As a band, they gel perfectly. Chris, Al and Chito are more than just a group of instrumentalists- they are capable of connecting in a way that makes the music of Conflict In The Sky so positively talented. As they come back for more of the Sellaband pie- this time armed with a Studio track, and new teasers- Conflict In The Sky will definitly be one of the brightest stars in the sky.

Kane Sole | 24.05.08 | 1 | |||
One of the most vibrant and uplifting talents I've come across on Sellaband is Kane Sole. His upbeat and bright compositions easily put his listeners into a positive state of mind- carefully embodying all sense of his passion into his music. Whats more, the songs Kane presents embed relentlessly into your subconscious and ensure you don't forget them easily. A unique aspect of Kane's sound- along with many other Sellaband success stories, is his serene and soothing voice. Managing to be seductively appealing and a perfect tone to suit his compositions, it fits into his sound perfectly. With catchy hooks, upbeat anthems and a stunning vocal talent- Kane Sole presents himself as the acoustic successor to Daniel Ward Murphy's 50K throne- so believe in him and celebrate his royal coronation sometime soon!

Celine Wadier | 24.05.08 | 1
A very unique take on the female piano style- Celine Wadier takes a look at the more oriental and ambient side of things, with her soothing and inspired music. Songs such as 'Le Paradis' truly embody her character, and the 'french' style becomes a present theme. However, this is only one side of Celine's music- as she explores more cultures through each and every track on offer. The vocals of Celine Wadier are also another element of her individuality. She channels her emotive prose through an atmospheric and spine-tingling voice that really adds the necessary additional element to her sound. Few artists have as much drive as Celine, as she stays true to her music, her message and her journeys whilst she discovers more of the world and puts it into her music. Investing money in her, akin to a seed into a garden, will surely eventually sprout and blossom like none other.
