Hi and welcome to my page.
I am Lori Greco.
A classically trained pianist/singer/songwriter/arranger/wife/mother/piano and vocal tutor who was born In Italy, but now living in Australia.
I have sung in piano bars, restaurants, on television and theatres most of my life, but now am mainly in demand as a corporate singer at many of Perth’s most exclusive and prestigious functions. I am also a part of 6 piece band, called "Supremely Motown." singing all the hits of the Motown Era.
I had thrown away all thoughts of recording an album years ago, until I entered a songwriting competition organised by the Government of Western Australia to celebrate the 150th year of our state becoming it's own self-governing entity. It was my first attempt at both songwriting and entering a competition of this kind.
I was quietly hoping to win of course, but was disappointed to hear that I did not win.
I believed in the music, melody and concept of the song so much, that I rewrote the lyrics so that all Australians could embrace the song, and the song became known as "Australia". You can hear this on my MySpace profile.
I sent it to radio stations, and the song received airplay. I have performed it at many Australian celebrations and important functions and on TV, it is now the subject of the National Australia Day committee's film clip, and in 2007, the government of WA bought the rights under license for the exclusive use of the song, which funnily enough, was rerecorded again, but called "Western Australia!!" So we have come full circle....amazing!
From this one song, I was asked "what else do you have" by one radio station. To this I replied "nothing".
And so the wheels were set in motion, and I do not like to be outdone by a challenge.
In 2006, I set about songwriting, came up with 12 songs, and self funded my first album called "WAITING," mainly as a means so that I could send off my songs in the hope that an already established singer would record my songs, but also so that I could satisfy my own soul, and to leave my children a recording of their mother.
I recorded the album over the Christmas break of 2007, and the album was not mastered until August. I joined Sellaband on October 8th, 2007.
3 songs from that album (Fire, Waiting and Latin Lullaby)have now been chosen for internet radio rotation, and in January of 2008, my album was accepted by itunes, emusic, Rhapsody and other digital download stores for worldwide distribution.
And so here I am on Sellaband and so grateful to be here.
Daily, I am so proud to see my tally rise, but more than that, you wonderful people have given me the confidence, faith and support to continue writing. To think, that years ago, I had thrown this dream all away....
So I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for keeping my dream alive.
Dearest Believers, we are on the way towards the golden goal. Please read my blog dated 2nd May for further details regarding my position of where we are with regards to our SAB CD.
I thank you so much for reading.
I thank you so much for listening.
I thank you so much for investing.
Have a wonderful day,
Lori xxx

FALLING IN LOVE
(C) Alex Vicq
On the edge of time
On the edge of love
A razoredge line
A linking slide
Between two souls
O let me slide, baby
Let me slide
Till I meet
You before
You glide in
Love with her
O let me ride, baby
Let me ride
This time-line
To before
Your early years
As a lover
Then, baby, let's sink
Into the lovers' tide
Two drops in the ocean
Of LOVE
Two droplets
In the misty
Soulscape
Of the blinding
Light from Heaven
On the edge of time
We roll, baby
On the edge of love
We fall, baby
We fall

Congratulations to the lovely and talented Lady Haidee who reached $50K - I'm back to page 1. Yeah!!!
MAY 8th, 2008 ~ It's a Sellabration!!!!!!
$17 K in 7 months exactly on Sellaband! Thank you all!!!! xxx
MAY 2nd, 2008
WOW! Two $50K artists in two days!
Congratulations to Daniel Ward-Murphy (20th artist) on April 30th, and Angie Arsenault (21st artist) on May 1st, on reaching their dream of getting $50K so that they can record their new albums.
With Angie leaving Sellaband, she graciously made way for me to enter page 1. This has been so exciting, and in less than 7 months here, I have finally climbed my way up the Sellaband ladder and have arrived at position #10. This position is not secure, and could even fall back to page 2 at anytime. But now, more than ever, I feel confident that I too, will reach the $50K.
Thank you all so much for giving me the faith, support, belief and confidence to carry on with my music.
Like many artists around the world, I threw it all away years ago, because it was all too hard. Living in a place like Australia (as much as I love my country) unless your music is rock and as a female you are 18 years old...well you just haven't got a hope in hell!
Sadly, I have always felt my music had more appeal outside of my country....
Many of you will know, that I have already recorded and self-funded my first album. This happened because one radio station here in Perth dared to ask me..."What else do you have?" after hearing one song. To be honest, I didn't have anything else except a few little tunes I had plucked out on my piano.
Well, not to give up on a challenge, I thought "I can write" and you know what? I did! Mainly I did it for my children, so that they could keep a recording of their mother as a memento - a keepsake to treasure.
So I recorded 12 songs in all.
My album is called "WAITING" The title chosen not only from one of the songs, but because of it's meaning - that I had waited all my life to do it.
Three of the songs - FIRE, WAITING and now LATIN LULLABY are being played on internet radio stations on rotation.
My album is for sale on all the biggest download stores in the world - itunes, emusic and Rhapsody to name a few.
All this.... from one who threw it all away?
Am I proud of what I have achieved so far? You betcha!!!!!!
And so here I am now on Sellaband. Today's figure is $15,800 and 168 believers as I write.
I feel it is only fair to let you know what I am up to.
I made many costly mistakes during the recording of Waiting. I learned so much, but more than that, I quickly became experienced about recording and the art of recording. I am sure that given the chance, I will use $30K towards the recording of a new album wisely.
Being a musician, and knowing that recording is "forever" makes me want to be perfect. I expect perfection. When I listen to my music, I want to be happy that every note, is as perfect and pleasing to my ear musically as can be so that you, the listener, can be happy too.
So what can you expect from my SAB album?
I have 14 new songs. Each time I set aside time on the piano to be creative, something new comes out. Always, it is the newest song I have written that is my favourite.
What you have already heard on SAB, Myspace and Sonicbids is all from my current album.
These will not be rerecorded for the SAB album. (Well - maybe 2 of them)
I can not promise 14 songs....but most definitely 12, seeing as that was how many are on my current album.
I have listened to all your likes and dislikes, and have taken that into consideration. My music will have more of an edge...the tracks will still show a variety of styles, be it ballad, pop/rock, blues plus just a hint of jazz. It will be more modern, slightly rockier, but you can expect the same attention to melody, personal experiences in the lyrics, beautiful arrangements and emotional delivery of the vocals.
I still hope to record a double CD and do perhaps at least six covers of my all time personal favourites of jazz/latin standards, sort of a "chill out" Cd, perfect for a hot summer's day.
Perhaps here, I might change my mind and rerecord "Latin Lullaby" and "Sail Away" as I feel they could have been better recorded. I am still hoping Phil Tweed will give me permission to record his beautiful song "Two Way Street."
I will handpick the musicians and showcase their talents as well.
I plan to record and master the CD in Perth, Western Australia and be present at every second of it's recording, mixing and mastering....as I was for the last.
For now, this is my plan. Of course, with your continued support and faith, as I get closer to the golden figure, I will let you know more.
Till that day arrives,
My love, thanks and friendship to you ALL!
PS. I do also promise to not abandon you all if and when I reach the $50K. It would only be because of your financial support that I would have achieved my goal, and for that, I would always be grateful.
I sincerely mean that each of you is now classified as a friend, and would hope to make myself available to you.
I also have something special in mind for when that day arrives....but will not divulge that to you until then!
Take care, and thank you all again, so very, very much.

APRIL 8th, 2008.
TODAY, I celebrate 6 months exactly on Sellaband. Wow! It has been a lot of fun so far, and I am amazed at my tally of $13,270 as of today. Thank you to all of my beautiful and supportive believers.
I have been busy with teaching, rehearsing, and writing for what I hope will be my next album (with your help), but more recently, I became part of the Collaboration Project.
I am involved in two collabs. One with Kostek Andreev, where he supplied me with a backing and melody. I wrote the lyrics and sang the lead as well as the harmonies. The song is called "FLY." Please listen out for it in the next week.
The other, is a female duet, with the lovely Sofi from BONNIE. Casper (CAYA) wrote the music and lyrics and Sofi and I agreed to sing the song together. I am looking forward to Casper's mix when he returns from a holiday in Turkey.
How incredible it is today, to meet such fantastic artists on one site, to become friends, and then to have the opportunity to work together even though we are thousands of kilometers apart.
Isn't technology wonderful? Yeah, I know you know.... Just thought I'd let you know how much appreciate it.
Anyway, please keep an ear out, and please after you had a listen to my music, stop by and check out The Collaboration Project.
Have a fantastic day!

FEBRUARY 12th, 2008
I have just updated some info on my info page.....
Not much to blog about ...except that I am sooooooooooooo happy by my rising tally here!
I thank you all for contributing to my success so far.
JANUARY 23rd, 2008
What a week this is going to be....My head is spinning.
First of all to be asked By Johan to be featured in the Tribune for Q+A is an honour in itself. Only 52 articles a year, and 6,331 artists to choose from. I am so humbled by everything that is happening to me this week.
Yesterday I was notified that my album WAITING, of which many of my believers now own, was accepted for world wide digital distribution! How fantastic!! No more emailing, posting out, phone calls!!! I finally have the right people behind me! My album will be available on itunes, emusic etc.Fingers crossed for great success!
This week is particularly busy with all Australians celebrating Australia Day on January 26th. I have written a song called Australia (you can now watch the video, one is of me performing in front of 6,000 people, the other is film footage of Australia).I will be singing for the Governor and Premier of our state at today's lunch, and tomorrow night I have a full dress rehearsal for a concert I am singing in. (1 Aussie song only) The show will be performed on Friday 25th Jan.
To cap the week off, I will be singing in front of 30,000 people in the city of Fremantle before the fireworks go off to celebrate Australia Day!!! I am so honoured! I sang at the inaugural fireworks last year, and they invited me to sing again. So happy!
Other radio stations will be playing "Australia" so I get a fair go at this time of the year!
Q+A with Johan was great fun to do, so I hope you enjoy learning a little more about me. You are always welcome to drop by regardless of whether you invest or not!
So for this week, take care, and if you know any Aussies in your place of the world..say G'day mate and Happy Australia Day!
Love to you all, and ESPECIALLY to my believers!

Hi Everyone. How wonderful it is to be on Sellaband Land, and to have the pleasure of meeting all these beautiful people in this HUGE world. I thank you for your support, your belief and your friendship. I am loving the fact that we can interact, so that is also fantastic.
My heading is spinning today frankly. I am so overjoyed at the reception I have received so far, especially at the fact that my beautiful believers commit conservatively, and then more so with dedication.THANK YOU!!
Today I am busy preparing to sing for the Governor at the Governor's Ballroom, for the "Australian Citizen of the Year" nominees ceremony, a cocktail party where drinks and canapes will be served, before I will sing my song called AUSTRALIA and conclude the event by singing our beautiful national Anthem.

PAPA's EYES
Music & lyrics (C) Lori Greco 2007
Looking back those years ago I was Daddy's little girl
He'd let me cheat at playing cards
If I'd lost it shattered my world
He worked his hand upon the land or my Mum my sisters and me
He'd watch us play in the field of dreams
When we were young and so carefree
IN MY PAPA's EYES
I COULD TELL HOW MUCH HE LOVED ME
IN MY PAPA's EYES
I COULD TELL HOW MUCH HE CARED
Sitting on that rocking chair
Me and the dog at your feet
There's a cold wind blows your thoughts away
And fades your memory
You find it hard to recall today
But in your life of yesterday
You were a lonely boy without love in your home
Now love's too hard to display
IN MY PAPA's EYES
I COULD TELL HOW MUCH HE LOVED ME
IN MY PAPA's EYES
I COULD TELL HOW MUCH HE CARED
ALTHOUGH THE WORDS WERE NEVER TRULY SPOKEN
IT WAS ALWAYS WRITTEN IN MY PAPA's EYES
Now I have kids of my own
The children love their Pop
They love to hear the stories he tells,
They never want to hear him stop
He gives them all the time in the world
Sits them down for a cuddle or two
But when they say they love him from the heart
He finds it hard to say he does too.
To Chorus:
As he holds my hand so very tight
I can see a tear in his eyes tonight
I know that it was written.....in my Papa's Eyes.
SAIL AWAY
Music and Lyrics (c)2007 Lori Greco
Lead Vocals and backing vocals- Lori Greco
Hasn't life just become so busy and crazy, that we'd love to get away from it all, leave it all behind and escape to our own private little island?? Well, that's what this song is about. It's also about grabbing the love of your life and sailing off in the ocean. It's THE perfect escape song, it will leave you feeling happy. It's also a great summertime driving song. Justin plays the great piano solo this time..
Listen babe, let's get away, just you and me
To a place, far away, beyond the sea.
Babe, this ain't no pie in the sky I
Wanna be where the livin' is high
So pack your bags, come along for the ride,
Skip the boredom, 9 to 5
We could sail across the ocean
Take ourselves a lover's holiday
In the solitude there's no substitute
For the sweetness of your love.
We could sail across the water
Make love in the rolling sea
There's a picture of you and of me
In my mind being free
That's where I wanna be.
Just leave it all, no telephones to interrupt our days
Traffic lights, late nights city lights
It's all a craze.
Let's go walking barefoot in the sand
We'll dare to dream with our hearts in our hands
Its' the simple joys that make life worthwhile
Won't you come for the ride?
I'LL BE THERE
Music & Lyrics (c)2007 Lori Greco
Lead Vocals and piano- Lori Greco
This is a beautiful, serene and gorgeous song of peace. Lyric content may seem a little strange, but when I was tinkling the piano keys, the topic about singing to my loved ones as IF I were singing down to them from Heaven came into my mind. Its also about leaving this earth, but still being with those we have left behind and living in their hearts. Sad to say, but comforting to know, that THIS is what I'd like to be played at my funeral......WHEN the time comes.
I played it at my Dad's funeral this year, and the words were very comforting for my Mum.
I'd love for this song to become popular for that reason, comforting that is, plus I think it would be perfect in a movie.
The orchestral strings provide added warmth and beauty.
I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.
It is simply...beautiful.
Softly I left you
But hush don't you worry, I'm still with you
gently you tremble
You hear my voice singing in your head.
Don't be alarmed now
I'll give you the strength now, just wish me there
Look deep inside and whenever you think of me
I'll shine a light
And I will kiss you goodnight
And I will hold you tight
Anyway the wind blows
I'll Be There.
Whispers of morning
A new day is dawning-what lies ahead?
Take that step knowing
That I'll gently wipe
Every tear that you shed.
Just know that I am with you
Wherever you go
In all that you do
In times you feel low
Angels have called me
I'll love you and hold you eternally
You will see...that I

Every once in while, an artist comes along with a voice that stops you in your tracks and captures your attention. Lori Greco is one of those special artists. Her voice is captivating and very versatile, with a full sound characteristic of Jazz singers. Lori's style is uplifting, genuine, and if you enjoy beautiful piano, it is a constant and wonderful part of each song. I recently joined Lori's family of believers and couldn't be happier! As a reward, I received some excellent songs and I am enjoying all of them! Thank you Lori! I'll Be There: Lori tells a wonderful and touching story of a departed loved one and the song evokes feelings of happiness, knowing [she] will always be there...watching over and protecting her loved one. "I'll be There" is very reassuring, sincere, and Lori sings it beautifully! I truly felt Lori sang it from her heart and the strings are a nice touch! Latin Lullaby: I loved the Caribbean feel infused with a jazzy touch. Latin Lullaby is very innovative and Lori sings it with a very nice jazz quality. This would be a great song to enjoy with a loved one on a tropical beach and a glass of wine with some romantic dancing. Of course if you aren't relaxing in a Caribbean paradise, just close your eyes and listen...you'll find yourself there very soon! Sail Away: Once again, Lori lends a nice jazz feel to this uplifting song that paints a great picture of a wonderful place to get away to...somewhere distant, across the ocean. Lori plays a beautiful piano and the guitar is a perfect compliment to this wonderful piece! Waiting: I really enjoyed the piano in the beginning, which provides a great introduction to Lori's wonderful vocals. Even though "Waiting" tells a story of love, it is a celebration of that special person who comes into your life. If you enjoy up tempo and encouraging songs, you really need to listen to "Waiting". Thank you for your beautiful music Lori...the world needs more! Wolfman |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET LORI:p "I'll be there", yes, so shall I... captivated by such an overwhelming softness in the Lori's voice and waving breath, I feel like I were flying in coton, wool, warmth. This song worth a listen into a spa, with a romantic lover! "Falling in Love" with the voice of Lori is so easy! Don't you think so, dear believers? Isn't she that perfectly tenderly hot? I mean her voice, of course! Lol Lori, I feel really happy with this wonderful performance on my lyrics, that your soul inspired as my virtual "far away muse". Your intention sounds so true, that we can imagine we are really with the one we love, during this song. An amazing love-making music and vocals, huge congrats^^ |
